Writers Workshop and Presentation
It’s time to rhyme and shine! This special writer’s workshop will help students sharpen their writing skills. Following the workshop, all participants will have the opportunity to share their work with a Festival audience. The instructors are Jack Blankenship, contributing writer for the Lancaster Eagle Gazette and author of sixteen books of poetry, and Becky Shaade, youth services coordinator for the Fairfield County District Library.

With Richard Stoltzman and the Lancaster Festival Orchestra

Be a part of Festival history as the orchestra performs music to be recorded on its first CD. Renowned clarinetist Richard Stoltzman returns to Lancaster to perform and record with the orchestra. Mr. Stoltzman and Maestro Sheldon will be joined by composer William Bolcom to introduce the music from the stage. The music contains a wonderful blend of classical and jazz idioms, with dedications to Duke Ellington and Eubie Blake.
